Miss Jennifer H Darrien: MBChB, MSc, ChM, FRCS.

Following completion of her surgical training, Jennifer completed a Royal College of Surgeons of England approved Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at University College London Hospital and NHS Northumbria. She has held substantive NHS Bariatric & UGI Consultant Surgeon posts in both Scotland and England, (University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust). She currently contributes to the provision of General & UGI Surgery at Nuffield Health, Chester in addition to Remote & Rural Surgery in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland.

Jennifer is delighted to have worked as a Consultant Bariatric Surgeon exclusively with Phoenix Health since 2017. She received extensive mentorship from Professor David Kerrigan, the former president of the British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS). She has performed a range of NHS and Private, Primary and Revisional Bariatric Surgeries in the North-West of England, Northern Ireland and London. She is skilled in endo-bariatrics, (Overstitch procedure), bariatric radiology and works with a variety of intra-gastric balloons. Jennifer enjoys training and mentoring the next generation of surgeons at Phoenix health in addition to providing support and guidance to all allied health care professionals.
