After graduating from Medical School in the top of his class in 2008, Qutayba received extensive postgraduate surgical training in general, laparoscopic (keyhole), and upper gastrointestinal surgery across various hospitals in the Yorkshire region leading to the completion of his speciality training (CCT).
Qutayba then pursued further specialisation in bariatric (weight loss) surgery. He undertook the prestigious Phoenix Health Bariatric Surgery Fellowship, under the mentorship of Professor David Kerrigan, the former president of the British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS).
At Phoenix Health, Qutayba offers a wide range of bariatric (weight loss) procedures for his NHS and private patients including gastric balloons, gastric bands, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric bypass.

Qutayba was awarded the NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) Academic clinical Fellowship. An award given to doctors with outstanding academic achievements to support them become health research leaders.
He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecture at the University of Manchester where he is involved in medical student education and supervision.
Qutayba is also deeply involved in medical research and has published over 50 medical articles and has presented many of his findings at national and international conferences (ResearchGate).
Qutayba serves as a regular reviewer for multiple high-profile medical journals, including Obesity Surgery journal, the official journal of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity & Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).
